Along the way they take an unlikely young companion under their wing: an architecture student hopelessly, and unrequitedly, in love.
Italian director Francesco Sossai’s third film, it premiered at Cannes. Filippo Scotti, who starred in The Hand of God, plays the young architect, alongside Sergio Romano and Pierpaolo Capovilla as the two lovable non-heroes. Funny, wistful and full of unexpected encounters, it is a warm-hearted story about friendship, ageing and the possibilities that open up when you take to the road. Critics have praised its unusual blend of melancholy and humour, as well as its leisurely pace and atmospheric sense of place.
